Our Story
Balustradedesign is part of Räckesbutiken, a company that was established in 2008 as a project of Villans Glas, a glass company based in Ängelholm, Sweden. In late 2010, Räckesbutiken Sweden AB became an independent company, but with the same people at the helm. In 2019, the family-owned investment company Beijerinvest became the majority shareholder in Räckesbutiken, and as of 2022, Beijerinvest owns 100% of the company.
Beijerinvest is characterized by their long-term perspective, expertise, interest in business development, and financial strength. Räckesbutiken delivers railings through online stores in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria and UK. Free delivery and all railings are shipped from our own production facility in Sweden.

- Can I customise the look and dimensions of my balustrade?
Yes – our 3D design tool lets you tailor your balustrade to your exact specifications. Choose dimensions, colour, glass type, fixings and much more. You’ll see the price instantly based on your configuration.
- Are your balustrades compliant with UK regulations?
Absolutely. All our systems are CE-marked according to EN 1090-1 and developed with strict focus on safety, durability and UK building standards. We conduct both internal impact testing and external certification.
- What materials are your balustrades made from?
We manufacture our systems using laminated safety glass, stainless steel (AISI 304 or 316), and powder-coated aluminium. All materials are certified and suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Can I install the balustrade myself?
Yes – our balustrade kits are designed for easy DIY assembly. Each order includes all necessary fixings, mounting tools and detailed instructions. You’ll also receive custom video guides tailored to your chosen system.
- Do I need planning permission to install a balustrade?
For most residential properties, planning permission is not required as long as the balustrade complies with UK building regulations. If in doubt, we recommend contacting your local planning authority.
- How long is the delivery time for a custom balustrade?
All orders are made to measure and dispatched from our own production facility in Sweden. Standard delivery time to the UK is 2–3 weeks, and delivery is always free of charge.
